This is the first full length album from former Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell's new band. which features his sons Todd (guitar), Dane (drums) and Tyla (bass). Joining them is Neil Starrs on vocals.

Since the passing of the legend that is Lemmy, Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee joined The Scorpions, and Phil put together this new band. He's back to doing what he does best, which is playing Rock 'n' Roll at ear splitting volumes, and touring. He's played festivals, and has toured with both Saxon and Guns n' Roses, so already his new material has reached thousands of Rock fans. Not a bad way to launch a new project!

Opener Ringleader sounds unsurprisingly like Motorhead. It's high-octane, filthy Rock n' Roll, that hits that spot!  Freak Show is more of a sleazy Hard Rock number and a cool driving song.

Skin and Bones is a heavier, more aggressive number that sounds like a hybrid of Slash's Snakepit and Pantera. Other highlights include the fast and furious Gypsy Kiss and Dropping The Needle, which are both in the Motorhead vein, and the superb Dark Days with it's slow, dark and bluesy Southern Rock vibe.

The Age of Absurdity is a strong debut album from one of Heavy Rock's true legends, and after the tragedy that befell Motorhead, it's wonderful to see Phil back out there with a fantastic new band continuing to fly the flag for Rock 'n' Roll.
