Movie Review: FINDERS KEEPERS (2014)

I was having a lazy Bank Holiday afternoon and decided to browse Netflix for a Horror movie to watch. For some unexplainable reason, I decided to give Finders Keepers a whirl.

Gig Review: SKID ROW + BLUE NATION + WESTERN SAND at KK's Steel Mill, Wolverhampton (UK) 24/08/2018

To be completely honest, I never thought I'd bother going to see Skid Row again, unless they happened to be at a festival I was already at. The brutal truth is that I'd lost interest in them. I think it's best to explain where I was at as a fan before writing this review. They used to be one of my favourite bands as a teenager, and I absolutely love their first two studio albums and their covers EP. I also really like their much-maligned Subhuman Race album. It was a shift in production values, and a lot of fans didn't warm to it as they felt that Skid Row had 'gone Grunge'. I still think it's an amazing record, and it's certainly aged well.

TV Series Review: MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER (Season 1)

Cloak & Dagger poster

Cloak & Dagger were always strange superheroes, and they certainly weren't mainstream ones. I think that the unbelievable success of the Marvel Universe movies is great because the powers that be are taking risks on lesser known characters such as this pair, and the show has a decent budget along with a fantastic team to bring Cloak & Dagger to life on our television screens.

Festival Review: BLOODSTOCK 2018 (Friday 10th August)

Bloodstock 2018 poster

After going to Bloodstock for the first time last year and having an awesome time (read my review here), I decided to go again. I'm not a massive fan of Death or Black Metal, so in the past there hasn't been enough bands on the line-up that I love enough to warrant going. After all, festivals aren't cheap, and anyone who says that they go purely for the atmosphere is a tit with more money than sense. The line-up has to justify the trip, and this year it was Friday that had the most that matched my musical tastes. Let's face it, Judas Priest is the greatest Heavy Metal band there has ever been (read my review of their latest album, Firepower, here), so their inclusion alone meant that I had to go.

Gig Review: DANZIG + PARADISE LOST at O2 Brixton Academy, London (UK) 07/08/2018

Danzig and Paradise Lost gig poster

Danzig and Paradise Lost on the same bill? How could I not make the trip to dirty London for this! They're two of my favourite bands, and both masters of their genres. I've seen Danzig a couple of times before, the last being in 2013 in Wolverhampton. It was his 25th anniversary tour and he brought Doyle on-stage to blast through some Misfits songs.
