I've been following Crossfaith for a few years now, and I think they're possibly the best thing to come out of Japan since the Transformers. Ex_Machina is their fifth studio album, and follows last year's Freedom EP (read my review here), the title track of which features on the new record.

What I love about Crossfaith is how they mix Electronica with Metalcore and other styles of Alternative music to create something that's genuinely unique. There are so many bands out there that both look and sound the same, especially in the Metalcore scene, so what Crossfaith bring to the table is genuinely interesting and refreshing.

This new album still sounds very much like Crossfaith. They have their style cemented, so they're now delivering more of what their fanbase want. I wouldn't say it's as strong throughout as their previous two albums, but in fairness, Crossfaith raised the bar so high with those records that improving on them would be extremely difficult.

However, Ex_Machina is still a very impressive album and it features some massive singles such as Wipeout, Make A Move, and Freedom, which are as good as anything they've released before.

The energy and creativity that this band exudes is undeniable, and they are still an amazing live act too. They have developed a winning formula and, as a wise man once said,  "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
